A North Carolina woman, Genesis Diane Clippinger, 21, of Rutherfordton, has been formally charged with the unlawful dissemination of intimate images, a misdemeanor offense, following an investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.
The incident came to light when a Chambersburg woman reported to authorities on January 6 that Clippinger had shared an intimate image of her on Snapchat without her consent. Despite the victim’s immediate request for Clippinger to remove the image, Clippinger did not comply, police records show.
Further investigation revealed that Clippinger allegedly accessed the intimate photos through her former boyfriend’s iCloud account, who is now the current partner of the victim. It is believed that Clippinger knew the password and used it to download the photos.
Charges were officially filed against Clippinger on February 20. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 15 before Magisterial District Judge Kristin D. Nicklas, according to court documents.
