
A 24-year-old man, Charles Avedis Hutton, faces multiple charges following an incident at a Sheetz store located at 1508 Cedar Cliff Drive in Lower Allen Township. On March 3, 2025, police were called to the scene after reports of a man menacingly wielding a knife in the store’s parking lot.
According to eyewitness accounts, Hutton was observed running around the parking lot with a large machete-style knife, entering the store, and threatening individuals. A bystander managed to disarm Hutton, and the weapon was subsequently secured by store personnel. Hutton then exited the store and fled in a Subaru, which was later linked to him through vehicle registration records.
Further reports from the scene describe Hutton as shouting and behaving erratically, including stabbing the ground with the knife and removing his clothing. He also reportedly charged at bystanders and caused over $2,000 in damage by stabbing a work van.
Authorities were able to positively identify Hutton through witness descriptions, store surveillance footage, and his driver’s license information. Charges filed against him include simple assault by physical menace, disorderly conduct, harassment, and criminal mischief. A summons has been issued for his court appearance.


Hutton, described as a white male, approximately 5′ 8″ tall, weighing 215 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
