The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that a major construction project involving the replacement of the superstructure on the bridge that carries Route 11/15 (Enola Road) over Conodoguinet Creek will commence early March 2025. The bridge connects Wormleysburg Borough and East Pennsboro Township in Cumberland County.
Set to begin on March 3, 2025, the project will initially see minimal traffic disruptions. However, the adjacent park and boat launch at Front Street will be closed until April 30, 2025, to facilitate the construction of a temporary access road.
In the latter part of spring, traffic flow on Route 11/15 will be constricted to one lane each way. Northbound traffic will be redirected onto the southbound bridge, which will also accommodate a temporary pedestrian pathway. A press release is expected to be issued before these changes take effect.
The $5,247,171 project, undertaken by JVI Group, Inc. of York Springs, includes bridge deck replacement, pier rehabilitation, and paving. Completion is projected for June 22, 2027.

Motorists traveling through the area are advised to remain vigilant and exercise caution. Updates on traffic conditions can be accessed through the 511PA website, which offers real-time traffic information, delay warnings, and weather forecasts. The service is available online, via a smartphone app, or by dialing 5-1-1.
