Downtown Chambersburg Inc. (DCI) has brought on three more new businesses along Main Street and Philadelphia Avenue, specializing in home décor, interior home design, and fresh-baked bread.
At Shabby Chic Farmhouse Boutique, owner Stephanie Meyers helps others uplift their homes with Southern-inspired décor and locally made art. “Charleston, South Carolina, is my happy place,” she says. “I wanted to bring a touch of the South here, with space for local artisans to widen their audience. With the local artisans and items from Southern vendors, Shabby Chic brings Charleston to Chambersburg! We have both worlds without leaving home.”

Meyers greatly appreciates the Chambersburg community. “They really showed up for me, and so I show up for them,” she says. “I love seeing new and regular faces and that little smile when they find something they like.”
Cheerful Flowers & Gifts owner Kelly Perry recently opened sister gift shop Happy Home. Perry credits the success of both to the local community. “We deliver flowers around town daily and of course love seeing everyone in the store and helping with their gifts. It’s been a delightful success!”

Happy Home is the center of Perry’s furnishing and design services. “Our signature offering is a ‘Where to Start’ session for anyone looking to create or settle into a new home in the area” says Perry. “We’ll guide clients through intentional design exercises and conversations, giving them personalized next steps and applicable contacts.”
What is home without good food? Standard by GearHouse Brewing is a commercial bakery and café featuring loaves of bread, pastries, and specialty coffee and tea drinks. “If you make a good baguette, you’re doing something right. People have also been flocking to our cheddar-jalapeño sourdough,” says Van Gray, president of GearHouse Brewing. “Sandwich-wise, we have a prosciutto with ricotta, honey, and olive oil on focaccia joining our permanent menu.”

He shares Standard’s origin story: “Chambersburg lacked a true bread bakery. One of our cooks at the brewery went to work at a bakery in Mechanicsburg and eventually came back to work with us. With his experience, we finally had a chance to start! We love that both our businesses are great for gathering with our community.”

“At DCI, we welcome neighbors and visitors alike to our area,” says Sam Thrush, DCI president. “These new shops are warm and inviting, providing key elements to the hospitality we aim for in our community. We’re excited to have these businesses reflecting our mission.”
