Early this morning at approximately 6:12 AM, emergency responders were called to the scene of an auto accident on the unit block of South Main Street, where a vehicle had collided with a building, resulting in one person being trapped inside.

Upon arrival, first responders from Company 1, along with mutual aid from EMS units, found a vehicle embedded into the structure. Crews quickly worked to extricate the trapped individual, who was then provided immediate medical care by the awaiting EMS teams and transported to the hospital for further treatment.

The Chambersburg Police Department (CPD), a building inspector, and fire police also provided assistance at the scene. The area was secured and all emergency units were able to clear the scene after approximately one hour of rescue and investigative efforts. Further investigations are underway to determine the cause of the crash.
